From a technical point of view, the all-wheel drive Spider repeats the basic Stradale model. The power plant includes a V8 4.0 turbo engine (780 hp, 800 Nm) and three electric motors with a combined capacity of 220 hp. The peak output of the system reaches 1000 hp. The gearbox is an eight—speed "robot" with two clutches. The power plant can operate in four modes: electric drive, standard Hybrid, sporty Performance and extreme Qualify are available to choose from. The charge of the traction battery with a capacity of 7.9 kWh is enough for 25 km of mileage without the participation of a gasoline engine — in eDrive mode, the maximum speed is limited at around 135 km/h.
Even taking into account the increased weight (1691 kg) to 100 km/h, the Ferrari SF90 Spider accelerates in the same 2.5 seconds as the lighter Stradale coupe. The maximum speed has not changed either — it still reaches 340 km/h. Even the braking distance from 100 km / h is the same for two cars — 29.5 meters. However, in acceleration up to 200 km/h, the open-top version still loses a little to the original coupe: 7.0 s versus 6.7 s.
